Creative Directress
RAMANI DAMAYANTHI
 


Ramani Damayanthi is an actress and choreographer by profession, has studied drama and theatre at Natya Silpa Shalika and has won the Best Actress Award in 1994 & 1995 at the National Youth Drama Festival and 1998 at the State Drama Festival.

She has awarded scholarships to participate in theatre workshops at the National School of Drama, New Delhi in 1995 & 2000.

As a member of the Sri Lankan Puppet Troupe, she has performed at the 5th International Puppet Festival at Lahore in Pakistan in 2000.

Since 1991, she has been conducting integrated theatre workshops for the physically, mentally and socially unprivileged in Sri Lanka as well as oversees.

She has appeared in numerous Stage and Television plays as a prominent actress. She has performed in the Riverside Studio in London, at the International Conference Hall in Oslo, the Sala Petrarca in Padua- Italy, at The Power House – Brisbane and the Kamani Theatre- New Delhi.

Damayanthi worked as the Assistant Creative Director and a key player for Sunera and Conducted the main workshops for T.O.T. programmes.

Since the inception of THIDORA she joined the Institution as its Creative Directress.
